It’s customary to eat when offered by your host, and this can quickly make you eat food items that are not diet friendly… To prevent yourself from being pinned into a submission to eat, it’s best to eat before going to a party. That way you won’t be tempted to eat just anything presented to you.

0:50 – Tip #4: Workout in the morning
If your family is coming into town or you are traveling for the holidays, make it a point to get your workout in first thing in the AM.

Exercising in the morning can help ensure better behavior all day long, according to a study published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. This translates to fewer cravings during the high-fat holiday festivities.

1:29 – Tip #3: Stop banking calories
Banking calories is where you cut back from eating all day so you can indulge at an event or in this seasons case, a holiday get-together… But in reality, this strategy only sets you up for a pig-out.

Why? You’re freaking starving! It’s easy to get out of control when you’re faced with high-calorie choices, especially if you’ve deprived yourself all day long.

Be sure to eat your normal healthy meal choices leading up the the event or party and aim for lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean protein that will keep you full all day so when it’s time to attend the holiday event, you won’t be bombarded with cravings.

Instead of trying to down eight glasses of water (near impossible when you’re busy), try snacking on water-rich foods help keep your belly full and your body hydrated so that everything moves through your system faster – Fruits and vegetables are composed primarily of water and are great choices.
