What’s going on, guys? Jonny here with SixPackAbs.com and I want to talk to you about a little thing called “flow.”
I’ve been listening to this audiobook on Audible lately – The Rise of Superman: Decoding the Science of Ultimate Human Performance by Steven Kotler – and it’s helping me to get my head on straight to be the best man I can be both inside and outside the gym.
You see, when it comes to working out to get the body you want, it isn’t enough to just do the reps and sets and call it a day – there’s a reason why other people in the gym are seeing and achieving the results you want, but they’re doing the same workouts as you.
It all starts in your head. You need to go to the gym or get ready to train with a clear state of mind because you want your mind and body to come together as one to function at their highest level and potential.
If you wanna learn a whole lot more on flow and how to maximize this potential, go ahead and download the audiobook at audible.com/sixpack – the first download is on me when you sign up for your 30-day trial.
So, today I’m going to give you my 4 best tips on getting into a good “flow” for training -whether you’re in the gym to lose fat or build muscle.
1:04 – Tip #1: Enter your gym or workout area with confidence – don’t hang your head down or dread doing it. Otherwise, you’re just going to make the results you want come that much slower or not at all.
1:32 – Tip #2: Block out the noise – if you are committing to train and workout, you don’t need to be distracted with text messages, emails, social media, or anything else besides what you are there to do.
2:01 – I like to do this with music. I put my headphones in, turn on my workout playlist, and let that all soak in while I’m warming up and getting ready for a set.
2:13 – Tip #3: Breath – Trust me – I see a lot of guys in the gym trying to workout, and their faces are turning purple trying to do something they can’t do. Make sure to use your breathing to calm down, keep tight, and control what you’re doing.
2:54 – Tip #4: Don’t be afraid to fail – If you don’t get it now, you will eventually. You’re putting in the work now that all adds up at the end to your goals, so if you fall, just get back up and keep going.
I hope this helps you guys get a better perspective on how to train. It really all starts up here in your head – your body follows from there.
Don’t forget to go and download “The Rise of Superman: Decoding the Science of Ultimate Human Performance” to hear more from Steven Kotler on getting yourself into the flow to be your own Superman. Just go to audible.com/sixpack and sign up for your 30-day trial – first download is on me.
