Gout is a kind of arthritis which occurs when the uric levels in the blood increase & excess acid crystallizes in the joints.

Symptoms to look for:
• Pain, redness & tenderness in joints

Causes:
• Uric levels increase in the blood
• Breakdown of purine

Food groups to consume in gout:
1. Low purine:
Foods to consume: Fruits, fruit juices, rice, pasta, low fat dairy products, almonds, walnuts, peanuts, raw vegetables, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and sesame seeds

Recipes based on the above food groups:
Recipe 1: Waldorf salad
1. In a bowl take ½ apple chopped into pieces
2. Add 8-10 blue grapes cut into half
3. 1 tbsp of dried cranberries (or 4 chopped fresh strawberries)
4. 1 tbsp chopped celery
5. And 1 tbsp walnuts
6. 1 tsp sesame seeds
7. sprinkle 1 tsp honey
8. Mix it well & your salad is ready
Recipe 2: Macaroni salad
1. Add 1 cup boiled macaroni in a bowl
2. Chop ½ cucumber in it
3. Also chop ½ tomato in it
4. Add ½ chopped boiled potato in it as well
5. Now, add 1 tsp lemon juice
6. Then add 1 crushed garlic
7. Next add 1 tsp olive oil
8. Also add black pepper and salt for taste

• Drink lots of water
• Avoid meat, sardines, mushroom, baker’s yeast, soy beans,
chicken, fish, raisins, lobster, pork, shrimp, sausages, &
shellfish
