Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a condition where the lungs get seriously infected due to a variety of agents such as viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites. In this condition, the air sacs present in the inflamed lung get filled with mucus and pus. Although it can occur to people one at any age, it is usually seen in people above 65 years of age or in children below 2 years.

Symptoms:

• Inflammation, mucus & pus in the air sacs of the lungs
• Fever
• Chills
• Cough
• Pain in the chest
• Sore throat
• Muscle aches
• Bloody sputum
• At times, pneumonia can progress to both lungs

Recipes based on the above food groups:

Recipe 1: Carrot juice

1. Put 2 chopped carrots in a blender
2. Add 5-6 spinach leaves in it
3. Also add a few parsley leaves
4. Add 1 clove of garlic (optional)
5. Blend them all well together
6. Strain this mixture and then add some cumin powder to it

Recipe 2: Burned garlic broccoli clear soup

1. Put ½ cup broccoli stalks in a vessel
2. Add 4 cup of water
3. Boil this water for 5-10 minutes
4. Also, chop ½ onion in it
5. Add one stalk of spring onion chopped
6. Now add 2 tsp chopped celery
7. Add 1 clove garlic and salt as well
8. Allow this mixture to boil for 10 minutes. Remember to keep
stirring it in between
9. Once done, let it cool down
10. Heat a 1 tsp olive oil and fry 2-3 chopped garlic cloves
11. Add this fried garlic to the soup with salt and paste to taste
12. Serve hot

This soup is a tasty and healthy appetizer

Tips:

• Avoid foods that weaken the immune system such as meat,
sugar, white flour, alcohol, coffee and tea
• Refrain from foods that aid mucus production. This includes:
chocolates & like dairy products such as milk, yogurt &
cottage cheese
• Make sure to drink at least 2-4 liters of water every day since
this will flush out the toxins from your body
