Influenza

Influenza is a viral infection that affects the respiratory tract.It is a highly contagious disease and can spread through coughs and sneezes of an infected person.

Symptoms to look for:

• Headaches, fever, chills, fatigue
• Weakness, nasal congestion,body ache

Food groups to consume in eczema:

1. Vitamin C: Fights damaging free radicals and aids in recovery
of viral infections

Foods to consume: Carrots, tomatoes cabbage, broccoli&, spinach and fruits like oranges, berries, kiwis, guavas, papaya & lemon

2. Probiotics: Strengthens immune system

Foods to consume: Yogurt

3. Proteins: Produces white blood cells to fight infections

Foods to consume: Eggs, chicken, fish, legumes & nuts

4. Allicin: Has anti-viral properties & loosens mucus

Foods to consume: Ginger, garlic & onion

Recipes based on the above food groups:

Recipe 1: Broccoli & carrot soup

1. Boil 3 cups of water in a saucepan
2. Then add 2 chopped onions to it
3. Also add 2 chopped garlic
4. Then chop & add 1 sprig of fresh parsley
5. Then add 1 chopped broccoli
6. Also add 2 chopped carrots
7. Add some salt to taste
8. Reduce the heat to a simmer
9. Cover the saucepan & leave for 15 minutes
10. Make sure that the onions are soft & cooked
11. Serve it hot

Recipe 2: Scrambled eggs & chicken dish

1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan
2. Now add 1 chopped green chili to it
3. Also add ½ chopped onion
4. Add ½ of a chopped tomato
5. Also include ½ of a chopped carrot
6. Saute this for 5 minutes
7. Then add to this, 2 beaten eggs
8. Also add 1 tbsp shredded boiled chicken
9. Add some salt to taste
10. Then add some turmeric powder
11. Now keep stirring till the egg is cooked
12. Once ready, you can have this with flat breads

• Drink lots of water
