Preparation Time for Dalia Khichdi: 20 minutes

Cooking Time for Dalia Khichdi: 30 minutes

Ingredients of Dalia Khichdi Recipe:
1. 50 gm Moong Dal.
2. 100 gm Dalia (Broken Wheat).
3. Carrot (Gajar).
4. Cauliflower (phool gobi).
5. French Beans (Fansi).
6. Green Peas (Mutter).
7. Chopped Green Chili (Hara Mirch).
8. Chopped Tomato (tamatar).
9. Turmeric Powder (Haldi).
10. Cumin Powder (Jeera).
11. Bay Leaves (Tej Patta).
12. Dry Red Chili (lal mirch).
13. Garam Masala.
14. Cumin Seeds (Jeera).
15. Small Size Ginger (Adrak).
16. Salt and Sugar (Namak and chini).
17. Mustard Oil or Refined Oil.
18. Ghee.

Method of How to Cook Dalia Khichdi at Home:

Step 1 –
Add 1 Tbsp Ghee on Hot Pan.

Step 2 –
After that Add 50 gm Moong dal

Step 3 –
Fry Moong Dal until it becomes brown colour. After that add some water.

Step 4 –
Add all vegetables after boiling the water. Add cauliflower, Carrots, French Beans and Green Peas. Also Add Green Chili.

Step 5 –
Now close the lid for 5 minutes.

Step 6 –
Open the lid. Now add 100 gm Dalia. Again close the lid for 5 minutes.

Step 7 –
Open the lid. Cook until Moong Dal, Dalia and Vegetables Bolied 100 percent.

Step 8 –
Add salt as per taste.

Step 9 –
Add 1 tsp Turmeric powder. Cook for 5 minutes.

Step 10 –
Take another pan for making tarka or phoron.

Step 11 –
Add mustard oil or refined oil on hot pan.

Step 12 –
Now add Garam Masala, Cumin Seeds, Dry Red Chili and Bay Leaves. Also add Chopped Tomato, Ginger Paste, half tsp cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Now add 1 tbsp sugar. Add some water and mix very well.

Step 13 –
Now add that Masala mixture ( Phoron or Tarka ) to Dalia. Mix it well.

Step 14 –
Finally Add some garam masala powder and 1 tbsp Ghee.

Step 15 –
Cook for 5 minutes and after ready serve it hot.
